Some early skin cancers may be suitable for non-surgical treatments. However, it is important to note that not all cancers are suitable for cream treatment, your dermatologist will be able to advise you on which ones can and can’t be treated with a cream. Some cream treatments work by stimulating the immune system to recognize the abnormal skin cancer cells and destroy them. Others use chemotherapy agents which are taken up by cancerous cells. These agents cause temporary skin irritation and some ‘down time’ is to be expected from these creams.
